The Quick Start Guide is intended to provide an overview, and answer some of the questions that are frequently asked by new families. More comprehensive information on Troop 633 requirements, policy, procedures, rules, history, is provided in the 'New Boy Packet' which is given to new to Troop633 Scout families. This packet includes the General Policies document, camping gear lists, and more information. Much of this information is available on this web-site as well.


1.  Requirements for Joining the Troop

Any boy under the age of 18 may join the Boy Scouts who has accomplished the following:
   1) Reached 10½ years of age;
   2) Completed the 5th grade; or
   3) Or, earned the Arrow of Light in Cub Scout Webelos.
The boy must also have parental consent to join the boy scouts.

Troop 633 requires each boy (at least one per family) to subscribe to Boy’s Life magazine.

It is required that at least ONE parent or guardian register as a Troop Committee/Adult Leadership member when a boy joins Troop 633, and that a parent or guardian attend the Parent Committee meetings on a regular basis. Parents/guardians are also encouraged to participate in Scout Adult Leader Training whenever possible....(Open the Troop633 General Policy document for the rest of the more formal General Policy information)
